BBQ RIBS WITH A CHRISTMAS TOUCH
Here's our recipe for one of the most flavorful and warming ways to make BBQ ribs - perfect for the cold winter months.
Which ribs are best?
There are three types of ribs to choose from: thin ribs, thick ribs and comb ribs. For this recipe, we recommend thick ribs because they are juicy and full of flavor. However, both comb ribs and thin ribs work well too. The quality of the meat is crucial to create a really good barbecue dish. More fat in the meat also means more flavor, which is a big advantage when grilling.
A winter feel on the grill
Ribs may not always be associated with winter, but with the right spices you can create the perfect winter feel. Flavors such as orange, cinnamon, star anise, and cloves add both a Christmassy aroma and a unique taste experience.
Ingredients
- 1 kg thick ribs (whole)
- 1 tsp of flaky salt
- 2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1 orange (peel)
- 10 whole cloves or 1 tsp ground cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick (ground)
- 200 ml BBQ sauce

Grilling
- Prepare the grill: Use a kamado grill and set the temperature to 120-140°C.
- Grilling the ribs: Place them in a rib rack and let them grill slowly.
- BBQ glaze: Brush the ribs with your favorite sauce and wrap them in foil for juicier meat.
- Final grilling: Remove from foil and grill with more glaze for 30 minutes.
- Rest: Let the meat rest before serving for best flavor.
Serving
Now you have wonderfully tender and flavorful ribs with a lovely Christmas seasoning - perfect for warming up the winter darkness. Serve with your favorite side dish and enjoy!
Good luck and have a merry Christmas!
